Eurella Organizational Structure

Eurella Community Services Inc. had its beginnings around 1950 as a private school for children with intellectual disabilities. It was formed by a group of parents because there were no government schools available for their children at that time.

The large Victorian building at 2a Eurella Street, Burwood was purchased in 1953.  During the 1970s additional classrooms were built at 2 Eurella Street. Eurella ceased to be a school in the early 1980s as the government assumed responsibility for providing education for children with disabilities. From that point Eurella provided Early Intervention Services for pre school children and a range of programs and services for adults with a disability.
